August 16, 2011 Deep Sea Fishing Report Port Aransas

Overall the report has not changed much since last week, but I absolutely must mention the billfish bite that is going on right now.  The Texas Legends Billfish Tournament took place over this last weekend and had the best weekend for billfish that I have seen. Overall, there were 160 billfish released with one boat, the “Let It Ride” taking top honors with 19 billfish released.  Below are the top 15 boats as taken from the TxLegends.com website:

If you have ever wanted to have a shot at a Texas billfish, now is the time.  The bite should remain hot until it cools, literally, after the first few fronts in October.  Call now with any questions and we can get you out there.
